The Manti Pageant
Jeremy, Me, and our friend from Yound Men's Juan drove down to the MAnti Pageant. We were so lucky to have Becky and her family let us stay with them. We got there early and were let in on the secret of the "best" seats to reserve, so we went early to save them with our blankets. We layed out our blankets and then wandered the town to see what festivities they had out for the visiting crowd. We hung out with Elise and had a yummy dinner cooked by Becky then when the time came, we headed to the pageant.
We were glad to find our blankets hadn't been stolen and we withered our way to our seats, which were in fact very prime. The temple and temple hill looked so beautiful and excitement was in the air.
We were glad that Juan could come with us. He had never gone more south than Salt Lake before so it was fun to show him the wonderful town of Manti. He is also preparing for a mission and I think this experience helped build his testimony. We sat and watched the pageant and Jeremy only fell asleep once. It was really cool and I even got chills at the end with the angels.
We arrived home late and of course, Becky had prepared a little treat. We sat and talked way too late, then went to bed. After breakfast the next morning, we borrowed some bikes and rode around town to see what we hadn't the night before. It was fun! Then after lunch, we started the 3 hour drive home, back to good old O town. We were extremely exhausted by the time we got home. We took a quick nap and then headed up to our ward campout at camp Atoka near Hunstville. We decided not to sleep over because we'd had enough of being away from home so we headed home and crashed on the bed. I don't even remember falling asleep! That's the way I like to spend my weekends!
