Kylee is officially walking!

Yesterday was a great day. I love Sundays, especially Sunday mornings. We have church in the afternoon and it gives us all morning to be together and relax.
Yesterday at church, Kylee just broke out in walking and talking to everyone! I'd never seen her just stand up and walk yet! She'll normally totter from one person to another, but yesterday, she cut the strings and took off! Yay, for my Kylee girl! I have video of it, maybe i'll post it later but i can't find that camera cord! We are heading to Brisbane today to meet with the surgeon and we want to hear him say "your bone is healing straight" so that we don't have to do surgery! pray that he says it! We'll keep updating! Bye

cooking up a cold sore

Well, for those who haven't had the pleasure of seeing a Chelsey cold sore, I will tell you about this terrible curse that I have been given. It starts with a little trauma, in this case, a nice WACK to my lip with the back of my hand as it slipped from the sheet as I was helping Jeremy move in bed. YAouch! Canker for a day, then all of a sudden, MY lips swells up and it looks like Will Smith on Hitch after an allergic reaction. Then, it will proceed to spread, upwards and downwards and across my lips until I look like I've had botox treatments. As if that isn't enough, it starts to "weep" which means I'm carrying around a Kleenex and dabbing at my FAT LIP at least 50 times a day so that the OOOZ doesn't drip down my chin. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just giving people something to look at instead of Jeremy's neck brace and give him a break from the stares when we go out into public. I'm such a nice wife right???? ALways happy to help!

p.s. Looks like we'll be holding off on the surgery for the time being...hopefully forever! Jeremy just needs to heal without his bone shifting out of place and then the course is straight for recovery. He's already healing so fast. All I can say is, I'm a BIG fan of Homeopathics and Naturopathics. I'm also a strong believer in Faith and Priesthood blessings. We are so lucky. THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE SENT EMAILS AND MESSAGES> WE REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT!

Update

Jeremy was able to come home last night! Since his fracture is stable, they allowed us to come home and wait until Monday to meet with the doctor-rather than just wait in the hospital. It sure is nice to have Jeremy back in the house again and next to me in bed with Kylee back to her normal schedule and sleeping in her own crib! I just love that man and this experience has really brought us closer together. I know how lucky we are that his injury was only minor and I know that he could've been paralyzed or worse. I'm just so blessed. Thanks for everyone's support! It's nice to know that people care. Just cross you fingers (or pray!) that he won't have to get the surgery and that some miracle will happen and he'll be fixed. We'll know by Monday for sure. We'll keep everyone updated!

Some bad news

For those who don't already know, Jeremy broke his neck on Monday night. He and his brother were taking a quick swim at the beach before dinner. The water was pretty rough and Jeremy was on his way in when a wave he was trying to "ride in" dumped him head first into the sand. Luckily Greg his bro was there to drag him into shore. He's been in the hospital and after x-rays, ct scans and MRI, they've concluded he has factured his C7 (one of the neck bones) and has ligament damage to c7 and c6 which means he's going to need surgery. They're going to have to fuse the two vertebrae together to prevent future nerve damage. Jeremy is doing very well considering the injury. He's basically bed ridden and has a neck brace on and can only get up to walk around the halls of the hospital. We're waiting to hear back on when the surgery will be, either Friday or Monday. I'll try to post often, but I don't have a laptop or easy access to a computer when I'm at the hospital and I'm there most of the time. Please keep us in your prayers, we really appreciate it! And remember to take good care of your precious delicate body. This experience has made me think twice about the choices I make, like whether to cross on the cross walk or not, or whether to run the yellow light or stop, or whether I should speed around the slow poke or just wait for him to move....just something to think about.

out with the old, in with the new

My little Kylee is growing up, and here's the proof! Old, and worn shoes

NEW SANDALS for the SUmmer!!!!! Thanks NAnny!

Leather soles don't last forever! We even tried to sew a previous hole up, but she wore new holes through. (I think she wanted new shoes. :) )

We rode bikes to Kylee's swimming lessons. She was pooped afterwards and feel asleep on the way home. By the way, we got 2 bikes ( one for $20, and another, with a helmet included, for $7) and this baby seat all for under $50 at garage sales! Just some new bike tires and lube and they run great!

The "crew" on the train at the Ginger Factory. One of the MANY pictures of our adventures from the last month.
More to come later
See ya!

Lots going on!!!!!!!

First of all, Kylee's birthday was Oct. 5th ( I'm a little behind on my blogging, I know!)
Happy Birthday Kylee!!!! We had a sausage sizzle down at the beach with some friends and family on her b-day, then a big birthday party later on when my SISTER MEGAN was in town with her kiddos. It was so fun....pictures will DEFINATELY follow

I have been super duper BUSY lately with my sis being in town:
Kylee's Birthday party, Australia Zoo, Ginger Factory, Eumundi Markets, Yandina Markets, Big Pineapple, Camping at Bunnamagoo, Beach days, Halloween party, WORK :(, shopping, movie nights, Pedicures with the girls, ....lots of fun times and great memories!!!! (and pictures to prove it!) Now my sister in gone, it's back to the usual day to day life. I've started to pick up some work in a nursing home as an aid. (Why am I an AID, when I'm licensed to be an LPN? you might ask, well nevermind that, I'm just grateful to be able to work!)
AND did I mention that my girl has started walking!!!!!!! yes, she has taken her first steps, actually quite awhile ago, but just today she made leaps and bounds in progress towards walking all on her own. Maybe by the end of this week she'll be running?! at this rate, I might wake up tomorrow and she'll be a teenager, atleast that's how fast time is going by when it comes to Kylee. She is growing so fast. Jeremy is STILL looking for a job. ...he tried to deliver phone books last week to pick up some extra money, but it turns out to get you about $6/ hour if that and he comes home tired, grumpy and the gas and use on the car is not worth it, so it's back to turning in resumes and praying that something will pull through. We are loving it here in AUSTRALIA!!! Life is good and we are happy. I will post more pictures of my adventures lata! till then, good night!

It's official

Ok, so i've come to terms with that fact that my wedding ring is gone. Let this be a reminder to all those out there with wedding rings that you should not go work in the bushlands of Australia and think that it'll be ok to wear your ring. It will slip off (probably) and get lost in the bush. :(

SO, I get to pick out a new ring. Should I A. get one exactly the same so that it replicates the original and honors all the hard work Jeremy went to to get it, or B. Pick a new one totally different? HELP

EKKA!

I've been meaning to post about the "Ekka" for awhile. The Ekka travels all over Australia and a month ago it came to Brisbane. It's kind of like a fair but BIGGER.We did our usual garage saleing on Saturday morn, then packed up lunch and headed south to Brissy! The night before, Greg arrived and was pretty tired, but we all had a lot of fun!

This is us on our way! Jeremy and his new woman....;)

Traveling music...

They have "show bags" that you can buy and in it is a bag of goodies that you could buy each for less than the cost ofthe bag itself, but it attracts a lot of attention inside the tent...It's kind of like an expo. We bought some YUMMY strawberry ice creams that have strawberries in the bottom of the cone! mmmm....:)

Mum and I got some soaps.

Refueling with some chocolate milk!

I stopped inside some China market place to feed Kylee and soon enough I had people stoping and smiling at Kylee. It was really funny! The Chinese women just stood in front of us for like 15 min and just laughed and played with Kylee. HAHA. I guess Bill thought it was amusing and took a pic.

They do an agriculture tent where people compete for the best lay out of their crops. This whole display is made up of produce. This is just one of many and this isn't even the coolest one! They had ones that had moving parts and smoke and stuff. It's just so cool. The best part was the free honey tasting booth! Yummy!

Then we headed to the show that started at dark...this was the coolest part

Chariott racing....REAL chariotts and it was really cool!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a 1950s truck that had a jet engine on the back of it that drove around the track and blew fire out the back of it. It was really loud and hot and it went around the track like 15 times just blowing smokey fire. It was cool like the first 2 times haha,

These are Toyota Hilux trucks. THIS WAS SO COOL! In this picture, they're driving FAST around the track but they're one or two inches apart from eachother, then they'd peel out and spin around and then go backwards and stuff.....I guess you'd have to be there to see how cool it was.

Then two of them drove around the track on two wheels on it's side. It was really cool!

Among other things, we were VERY tired as you can see, we're both yawning. I didn't even know that Bill was taking this picture! And Kylee feel asleep sitting up with me covering her ears.

After the fireworks, we headed back to the car to head home.

We had a great time and I would recommend the Ekka to all those who visit AUSTRALIA!!!!! Who's coming?!!!!

LOST

After looking in the usual spots, I realized I've lost my WEDDING RING!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH~!!!!!
Even though it's covered with insurance, I'm still very worried because I want THAT ring! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our apartment in Australia

Our Kitchen Our view (and Greg's room- Greg, Jeremy's brother, is staying with us for awhile and since we have only two bedrooms, he gets the closed in patio as a room:))
Our Living room

the "Toilet" -People don't say 'I need to go to the bathroom' here, they say "go to the toilet". It makes sense because the toilets are usually seperated from the "bathroom"

The bathroom (and behind me is the washroom)

Kylee's room

Our bedroom
The view from our bed...

Well, I know these are probably boring, but I don't really care! So here they are.

Sausage Sizzle

Sausage sizzles are a part of the Australian culture. Just pack up the "bangers'(sausages kind of like a hot dog, but real meat) and some bread and tomato sauce and head to the beach. Invite a few friends along the way (Greg and Nanny were the only ones who could come this time)

It doesn't hurt to fry up some zuccinis, tomatoes and onions to add to the meal... all you do is take the sausage, put it on a piece of bread (similar to a hot dog bun) slop on some sauce and eat up! As you can see, it was really yummy!

The man's job is to sizzle the sausages. The beaches have been equipped with barbeques at every picnic spot. Just push a button and the plate heats up! (you have to bring your own man though, they don't come for free!)

Verdict...Success! Just pack up what's left, take a quick night walk on the beach and head on home.
What a wonderful life!:)

Peanut butter, jelly and SAND sandwich!

We decided to pack a lunch and go down to the beach for lunch! It was lots of fun! It's been a HOT spring here is Australia and we have taken advantage of it! The fountains are really fun! Kylee loves her daddy!
PBJ&S sandwiches! The "crunch crunch" is the best part! After the first freak out about the sand being everywhere, I decided to surrender my losing battle with sand while at the beach. Eat up Ky!!!!!!!

Me and my girl!

"our beach" King's beach.

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was my 2nd anniversary. It was a wonderful day. It's so fun to think about how different things are compared to two years ago. Jeremy and I both agree that we've both changed and grown a lot since then (for the better). I'm so lucky to be married to Jeremy, he is a great husband and father and most of all, he's a great friend. I love him so much, heres to the future!
Well, enough with the soppy love stuff, Kylee had her first swimming lessons last Thursday. She did so well!! They do a class for babies to help them learn how and when to hold their breathe and how to grab onto something when they're under water if they drown. I thought I'd give it a try. Here are some pics....

Verdict: We love it! I wish every day was Thursday so that Kylee could have swimming lessons!!
